- Local non-profit health and human care agencies submit funding requests and supporting documentation for specific programs.
- Each agency appears before panels of community volunteers:
- To highlight the program for which they are requesting funding.
- To answer any questions volunteers may have.
- Panels decide if they wish to visit any agencies and schedule those visits:
- To clarify the intent of the program for which the agency is requesting funding.
- To get more in-depth conversation and answers to questions than the presentation format allows.
- Each panel meets through the process to determine recommendations for program grants along with comments/recommendations for each agency.
- The United Way Board of Directors has final approval of grants during the January meeting each year. The Citizen Review Committee Chair presents the CRC report and answers questions.
