2-1-1 Now Serving Wayne and Holmes Counties
Calling for help with a health or human service need just got easier for our community. InfoLink has become a part of the nation’s 2-1-1initiative, an information and referral network which has been rapidly expanding across the nation. As of August 2010, 2-1-1 serves over 246 million Americans or 82% of the entire population.
2-1-1 is an easy to remember telephone number that connects people with available community resources and volunteer opportunities. By simply dialing three digits, a person can make one call to find or give help. No more wasted time trying to find the right resource. The caller will reach a trained, caring professional 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It's efficient, fast and easy to use. And the call is free and confidential.
United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties has operated InfoLink as our area’s information and referral service for 33 years as a Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. program. The program is funded by United Way of Wayne and Holmes Counties. Orrville Area United Way, and Area Agency on Aging 10B. Expanding the program into the 2-1-1 network has long been a goal.
