The Orrville Area United Way has extended Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program to families with the Kidron zip code. The program is now available for children who live in any of the four zip codes served by our United Way: 44667, 44618, 44645 and 44636 (Orrville, Dalton, Marshallville and Kidron).
The Imagination Library is a free program, providing one quality, age-appropriate book each month for every registered child from birth to age five. The Dollywood Foundation selects, pays for the books and does the mailing. The United Way pays for the cost of the mailing, $25-$30 per year per child. The first book is ‘The Little Engine That Could,’ Dolly’s favorite book. At this time there are 237 children receiving books in our area.
Parents and guardians may register children on the website www.imaginationlibrary.com, or by completing and mailing to the Orrville Area United Way (P.O. Box 214, Orrville, OH 44667), the paper form included in the Imagination Library brochure, available at several sites throughout eastern Wayne County including the Dalton Public Library.
The Orrville Area United Way provides programming that helps people in emergencies and also works to keep problems from happening in the first place. For more information, contact United Way by phone: 330-683-8181, email: Sandy Sheffield, or visit our website: www.orrvilleareaunitedway.org.
